I did not take sun protection so seriously when I was younger. I used those horrible tanning beds, desperate to stay tanned throughout the winter. Remember those tan tattoo stickers? I definitely used those a couple times. Are they disgusting, absolutely! Bronzer was my best friend year round, she still is by the way. I remember getting ready for prom and I used so much self tanner and bronzer that I could have entered a body building competition.

As I got older I started noticing little dark spots on my face and they got even worse when I was pregnant. It freaked me out and magazines were starting to really push sunscreen hard in their summer issues, yes this was before we sourced 90% of our information from the internet. So I decided I would only use moisturizer with SPF protection and I always wear sunscreen when I’m going to be outdoors.
After many tests with many different products I have rounded up my fave sun protection products.
Here are some of my favourite Suncare Products

1. COOLA Classic Body Spray SPF 30
I first used this last summer and I love it! It’s an easy spray on sunscreen with sweat resistant properties and features broad spectrum protection. It’s made with 70% natural ingredients and goes on clear. It is on the expensive side so I try to use it sparingly but it smells so good you’ll want to use it all the time!
2. THINKBABY Safe Sunscreen SPF 50+
I absolutely do not want to use a commercial sunscreen on Carter as baby skin is so absorbent and sensitive when they’re little. I love the ThinkBaby Mineral sunscreen, it does go on thick but honestly I’d rather see it than not as it helps me see exactly where it has been applied to protect her precious skin!
3. It Cosmetics CC Cream Oil Free Matte SPF 40
I have been using this CC cream for close to 3 years. It Cosmetics was developed with plastic surgeons this CC cream delivers full coverage, anti-aging, SPF 40 realness. I wear this everyday. I prefer the matte version to their regular CC Cream, I just found that one was too dewy for everyday. I use shade Medium year round but I’ll mix in a bit of Medium Tan during the summer months. Having SPF in your regular makeup & skincare routine just takes out one more step and layering these products will ensure you are fully covered.
4. Australian Gold SPF 15 Continuous Spray with Bronzer
Ok, this is my all time favourite sunscreen. It’s a continuous spray that delivers SPF 15 with bronzer. Want to look like you were on vacation in Mykonos in a few hours, use this. This is my secret weapon to building colour fast when out in the sun. I generally buy a few cans at the beginning of the summer because it can be hard to find during off season, that way I have it on hand if we do go on vacation in the winter. I generally layer this with an SPF 30 underneath to make sure I don’t burn and my skin is protected. It’s also available in an SPF 30 version.
5. Blistex Deep Conditioning Treatment
This is a classic lip treatment that I always make sure to have on hand when we’re on vacation. I often forgot to put lip balm with SPF on while I’m out and my lips get a little burnt. This not only has SPF 20 but it’s so moisturizing that it will help if your lips do get a little singed.
6. Origins Mega-Bright SPF 30 Skin Tone Correcting Oil Free Moisturizer
I use this moisturizer everyday. It has SPF 30 to block UV damage but also has brightening ingredients to help with existing sun damage. I included this in my Favourite Skincare Products as well because it’s just so good. It leaves my skin super hydrated and glowing!
7. Sum Bum SPF 50 Lotion
This sunscreen is Hypoallergenic and Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Gluten, Cruelty and Paraben Free and is moisturizing while protecting your skin with SPF 50. And it smells like a day at the beach you’ll want to wear it all the time.
8. Kiehl‘s Super Fluid Daily UV Defense Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+
If you feel more comfortable applying sunscreen under your makeup this is the one to get. Kiehl’s nailed the formulation, it’s super lightweight silky and feels weightless underneath makeup. It’s a small bottle so I use it sparingly on my face only.
9. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen
In any formulation spray, cream or stick I love the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer line of sunscreen. You can almost always find a variety of their products in any drugstore and they’re a good affordable go to option that doesn’t leave you feeling greasy.
So there’s my sunscreen round up. Hopefully you found this post useful as there are so many different ways to use sunscreen what matters is that you actually use it. I have become somewhat of a sunscreen advocate and hopefully you will too!
